Podcast about contagious writing

Last week, the writer and entrepreneur Juan José Candón interviewed me for his website: Publish and Promote . The result this brazen  podcas t , and a few lines of introduction.
By: Juan José Candón

————
Carmen María Hergos, a graduate in Language and Literature, defines herself as a contagious writer . A native of the city of Merida, capital of the Mexican state of Yucatan, he has collaborated with different local media outlets such as Diario de Yucatán or the newspaper Por esto . In addition, he has published works in various cultural magazines in his country.

Whether in the morning or at any other time of the day, always find the opportunity to put their feelings and thoughts in writing to spread them through their blogs. His love for literary creation is only surpassed by the passion he feels for nature, which he looks with respect and fascination.

He has taught creative writing in institutions such as the Government of the State of Yucatán, the City of Mérida or the Secretariat of Public Education. Today it offers an online workshop whose only essential requirement is to know Spanish. The project is called Difficult to juggle , and has the official spokesman in the puppet Jiménez de Atar Ludic.

Carmen María understands that writing is a natural action that follows reading, and playing with words; one of the most effective ways to embrace the challenge of the blank page.

He is currently studying a Masters in Publishing at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

Face-to-face workshops

New online course-workshop

Start on November 14!

Creative writing, poetry and experimentation

In this course-workshop priority is given to poetic models and poetic writing. Why? Good prose has a very polished finish, while poetry is usually coarse in texture, full of abrupt jumps, intriguing transitions, and a surprisingly non-traditional use of words. That is, poetic writing lends itself more to experimentation, gambling and arbitrariness. In this way non-conventional thoughts can be expressed in unconventional ways.

For this course of poetic writing it is necessary to renounce all previous ideas about poetry: rhyme, sonnets, metrics, language figures, iambic verses or sinalefas; sentimental themes … Let’s forget about all that! Let us assume ourselves as children who know and experience with words in a joyful, intriguing way, discovering that they have an enormous capacity to move and express.

A course that is offered for the first time on the Internet in a personalized way, bringing to all interested people, whatever their experience, the pedagogical innovations of the writer and teacher Carmen María Hergos and her workshop of Difficult Creative Writing by Juglar .

The course is practical and consists of three modules (months), of four sessions each.

Methodology

  1. Each work session consists of:

a) an inspiring literary text.

b) a simple theoretical lesson that acts as a bridge between reading and writing.
c ) an anecdote related to the subject, in video format.

d) one or two “ejersucios” to put the lesson into practice.

e) one or more recommended readings to deepen the subject worked.

1. Among the proposed activities, there will always be some dedicated to reading and tasting the text and some aimed at writing a creative text.

2. The works are individual, but some will be done together in a participatory manner.

3. Personally I will comment on the work of each one, and I will publish, along with these comments, the second part of the theoretical lesson and the new work proposal.

4. All the answers and comments will be visible by the participants.

5. Participants can communicate with me via email.

Theme:  Art and culture   “We all have something to write and stories to tell,” says Carmen María Hergos, who is studying the Master’s Degree in Creative Editing in Barcelona and, taking advantage of her vacations in Mérida, will give a course on the subject at the Centro de Language and Culture Speak, in the Mexico colony. The young woman, a graduate of Hispanic American Literature at the disappeared Institute of Communication Studies of Yucatan (IECY), considers that this workshop is important because people want to express themselves. “There are many who want to learn to write, there are grandparents who want to leave their memories,” he says.

That is why the workshop is open to the general public (from the age of 16) that has the interest to write. “It’s not about forming writers, but about people enjoying themselves,” he says. “It’s for people to discover that they can have fun writing.”

“Creative writing is an original way of writing stories or feelings. It’s fiction, invention, “he adds.

Ensures that at the end of the workshop attendees will be able to write small poems or micro-stories. “Without a doubt, we all have something to tell”, underlines Carmen María, whose work is based more on experiential than on established techniques.

The workshop will be divided into three stages (you can take all three or only one). The first module is to “lose the fear of writing”. In the second, haiku will be addressed, small poems that talk about things that happen around, mainly nature, and the third will focus on small narratives or micro-stories. Carmen María points out that both micro stories and stories are usually considered a minor art compared to the novel. “I do not believe that one thing is better than another. In the case of micro-stories it takes a lot of ingenuity to be able to express what one wants with few words “.- Jorge Iván Canul Ek; ivan.canul@megamedia.com.mx

It will be held tomorrow and on Saturdays, October 1 and 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Freshly baked Microliterature

Every Sunday a very old dinosaur whose bones are crossed by force of carrying them to the surface, puts to bake three literary sandwiches that in spite of being very brief, satisfy the hunger for literature, novelty, play and surprise of many readers.

This month of April Be Breve please especially recommend reading the little poems of Carmen María Hergos. And Carmen María Hergos recommends grateful and delighted to Be Breve Please, who can also follow on Twitter .

Brief history

The idea of creating a space for literature on the Internet floats in the minds of all those who love letters and virtuality. Through Twitter, literary exercises are carried out in a group with the obligatory feature of that medium: writing in a maximum of 140 characters.

Condensing a story in such a small space usually requires ingenuity, however, sometimes 140 characters are not enough to express an idea. This blog is intended to be an extension of the page on which you write on Twitter, so the number 140 is maintained as a base – see brief instructions for use -. Our intention is to offer snacks for those who want to consume literature in small format and read the world in small drops of letters.

Remember: be brief, please.

Why a workshop with Carmen María

I spent three years of the Journalism and Literary Creation workshop given by Carmen María at CE Piaget. After some winters I can clearly distinguish the importance of his class in my literary training and my decision to give myself completely to writing. Through various creative exercises that he shared with us, I began to row through the different channels of literary thought, exploring areas of my consciousness that I did not know. I began to intuit a paradox particularly ridiculous, in writing everything is worth while it is well written. Carmen never sought to impose a style on her students, that allowed her to find a voice of her own, good or bad, but her own. Although later I formed my own temple of readings, the texts that Carmen presented to us made me recognize the malleability of the language, as well as the infinite possibilities of intelligence and imagination. Also, I give her a lot of credit as a motivator. Later, as we go deeper into the wünderkammer of the trade, we will not lack motives, but at that moment it was very important for me, it is not easy to be sixteen years old, have little control over your ideas and want to face discipline at the same time. White. Carmen, like the best teachers, was always in a position to teach and learn. have little control over your ideas and want to face discipline with the blank page. Carmen, like the best teachers, was always in a position to teach and learn. have little control over your ideas and want to face discipline with the blank page. Carmen, like the best teachers, was always in a position to teach and learn.

Joaquín Peón Iñiguez , editor and author in the magazine Replicante

The creative proposals offered by “Difícil de Juglar” are stimulating, they have been very good in our literary workshop ( http://sayenco.es.tl ) to release the anquilose feathers and have fun writing. We are really grateful.

Javier Aguirre Ortiz
Coordinator of the Literary Workshop and the magazine “Sayenco” of the Liceo Gabriela Mistral of Temuco, Chile.

Carmen was born for this, to play with words, and to teach everyone that delight of written expression. It is a creativity, a freedom to create extraordinary and the exercises are fun and gradually increase their demand.
I have participated in the First Course (Advanced) and I recommend it especially.

Mariano Ramos Mejía
Director of “Orientar, desarrollo empresarial”, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Under the tutelage of Carmen María, my style acquired flavor and that refinement that she needed. I know that it is partly the responsibility of the destination, but I owe a lot to Carmen for having invited me to participate in the literary creation contest organized by Tecnológico de Monterrey. Contest that I won along with a scholarship that allowed me to study there. I think she is an excellent promoter of literary gifts and a love for literature itself.

Ana Paola López
Bachelor of Arts at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Writing workshop monitor.

The book of socks could not be smaller

I do not remember how it is that @iuliusand I started reading on Twitter, but I remember very well that from the beginning it made me smile. His little texts were, and are, witty, concise, playful, great. Reading him like this, I saw his tiny consultancy and his charming project of Nanoeditions , the smallest publisher (and honors) in the world! Tiny texts ready to print in a single DIN A4 and with folding instructions to form a booklet.

This time I have the great pleasure of seeing edited there, in recontrapequeño, my little textures about socks. Socks? Yes, they are true muses of poetic inspiration, inspiring (and exhaling) of so many everyday poetry. Socks with Rombos man would be proud of me.

Do you want a copy of “Homage to the sock”? Here you can get it completely for free. I hope that you like it.
